The state government of Jharkhand has got a great blueprint for converting the state into a full fledged industrial hub. In fact, Jamshedpur and its adjoining areas are already world famous for world class industrial units but it would be inappropriate to give any credit to the state government for the success of this city. In the same breath we can’t give any credit to the state government for Bokaro Steel City. Anyway, the lackadaisical attitude of the state politicians is changing and that’s why the government is working hard to promote its industrial areas which are located in following districts:
Ranchi
Hazaribagh
Koderma
Palamau
Garhwa
Lohardagga
Gumla
Ranchi district has got the highest number of industrial areas (8) while Hazaribagh has three industrial areas. Rest of the districts have one industrial area each. The information about the industrial areas is available on the website of RIADA (Ranchi Industrial Area Development Authority). Only time will tell if these industrial areas will bear any fruit for the tribal people for whom this state was specially created.
